Parador de Cangas de Onís

  • Route of El Cares: this route around the National Park of Picos de Europa starts in the village of Caín in León and has a length of 12km (24km roundtrip) and can be done in about 3-4 hours one way or 8 hours' roundtrip. The stunning landscapes, the river and the sights will make this effort worth it. The difficulty is low/medium and is mostly flat with little ups and downs. We recommend that you take sunscreen, enough water, comfortable shoes and lots of energy. If you prefer to go with an expert, there are some guided tours of this route.

  • Route to Mirador de Ordiales: starting at the parking of Pandecarmen (located 27km away from the Parador de Cangas de Onís through the CO-4) and finishing at the Pradera de Ordiales, this route has a total length of 15km and takes approximately 6 hours (roundtrip). Also, it has a medium level of difficulty and is well signalized. The best time to do this route is on autumn or summer, when there is no snow and you will have the chance to admire green vegetation and the stunning views when you get to the Mirador.
