Museo de Patrimonio Municipal de Málaga

In the year 2007 this museum started its activity up in the mount Gibralfaro, where it is located. It is a cultural centre where municipal heritage, art and history meet. A total of 4.000 pieces and documents are exposed in three different rooms so as to explain the visitors the origins and history of the city.

This museum supports local art and local history through its 94 permanent exhibitions that, as it was said, are exposed in three rooms. Those three rooms are divided by chronological order: XV-XVIII centuries, XIX century and XX century. The entrance is free. (*)

Museo Picasso de Málaga

Probably the most famous museum in the city is the Museo Piscasso, as well as one of the Spanish Museums you cannot miss. It is an exclusive collection located in the Palace of the Counts of Buenavista since the year 2003. 285 art works of the artist Pablo Picasso, famous for the cubism movement and the revolutionary innovations he introduced, are exposed there.

The permanent exhibition costs 8€ (*) and it guarantees you a trip to a wide variety of arts, styles, techniques and materials. Completely impressive!

Museo del Vino de Málaga

Located in the historic centre, the Museum of Wine of Málaga opened its doors in the year 2008. The building is an old Palace from the XVIII century that is now keeping wines with the Designation of Origin of Málaga and the Sierras de Málaga as well as raisins of the region. You can enjoy a whole exhibition of bottles, labels, geographic and historic information as well as some facts about the elaboration of wine,

This museum is focused on promoting local wines as well as to let visitors get to know more about the products obtained in the Axarquía region in Spain. For 5€ you will visit the museum and try 2 different types of wine. Each additional degustation will cost 1€ (*)

Centro Pompidou de Málaga

This museum was opened in the city of Málaga so as to spread Modern Art in all its versions. Located in the modern building of "El Cubo", the museum offers a permanent exhibition that shows the changes history has gone through during the XX century with such a rich collection of works. The entrance ticket costs 7€, but if you also want to visit the temporary exhibitions the price will be 9€ (*)

Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga (CAC)

Another Contemporary Art Museum in Málaga is this one. Located in the old market of Mercado de Mayoristas de Málaga, a building declared a Place of Cultural Interest, it was opened in the year 2003 as a cultural initiative to spread plastic arts of the XX and XIX century.

A whole collection of sculptures, paintings, photography and different artistic objects can be seen in this centre whose entrance is free. Are you going to miss it?
