Charming enclave in the Pyrenees
The hotel is located in Val D’Arán, only 7 km. from Baqueira, amongst the Catalan Pyrenees. The landscape's main features can be seen from the Parador and they include forests, winter snow-capped mountains, and summertime greenery.
The hotel is in keeping with the local architectural style and occupies the Casa de D. Gaspar de Portolá, named after the man who discovered California. The bedrooms have sloping ceilings with exposed beams. The Parador also has numerous conference rooms including the outstanding Salón Chimenea. Its welcoming rooms invite rest and relaxation within an ideal setting for outdoor activities.
The cuisine is influenced by regional specialities such as olla aranesa (stew), trucha a la llosa (local trout dish), civet de jabalí (wild boar stew) and pescajus de Arties (brandy flavoured pancakes).
