The most beautiful thing of Arcos de La Frontera is the village itself. In fact, it is considered one of the most beautiful villages all around Spain. It is located in a magical environment in the south of Spain.

Arcos de La Frontera is one of the villages on the Route of the White Villages in the Sierra de Cádiz. Moreover, it is considered one of the most charming ones out of the 19 that create this route. All of them are included on this group because of their cultural past, the interesting environment and gastronomy they offer as well as for the beauty of their mountains, valleys and views.

The village where our Parador de Arcos de La Frontera is located  has an important Arabic past as well as an interesting archaeological and Roman heritage. It is a place to get lost in between its streets and parks, as the Park de Juan Candil, the Park de la Verbena or the Botanical Garden María Márquez.

As it was said, the beauty of it resides in the essence of the village. However, there are some places that help this village to be as special as it is. The Alcázar de Arcos de La Frontera is one of those. It is located in the historic centre, in one of the upper parts of the village, letting its shape be seen from different parts of the village. It is a building from the XI century but it suffered several modifications with time because it was under the influence of different civilizations. It used to be a defence spot with its three towers and walls presiding. Now, it is considered a Place of Cultural Interest.

The church of Arcos de La Frontera is known as the San Pedro Church, and it is also a place that deserves to be visited. It used to be an old Muslim citadel transformed into a catholic church. It mixes styles: a Baroque style on its façade and a presiding Gothic style in most of the building. It is a majestic construction in a tranquil environment. If you want to visit it, you may need to ask for a date there.

Another place you may want to visit is the Casa del Conde del Águila, which is an old Andalusian house you can find on the way to the Alcázar, on the Cuesta de Belén street. It has a representative neo-Gothic style with Arabic influences you will admire.

The best way of enjoying the beauty of Arcos de La Frontera is by going to its viewpoints. There are lots of them, such as the Mirador de Peña Nueva, the Mirador de los Abados, a tranquil and separated one, or the Mirador de la Matera.

The most famous one is the Mirador de Peña Nueva, It is one of the highest spots of the village, located 100 metres above the Guadalete River. The sun shines most of the time at this beautiful balcony to the village offering you a wonderful view of it. It is connected to our Parador de Arcos de la Frontera, a historic palace with a deep Andalusian spirit you'll love.
