Castle of the Counts of Benavente

Elegant, royal and well preserved, that´s the castle of Puebla de Sanabria, or also called the Castle of the Counts of Benavente located in the highest point of this town. It was built back in the XV century by the 4th count of Benavete and today is a touristic spot that you definitely have to visit in Zamora.  Also, take some time to admire the stunning views of the town and the river that you will get from this privileged spot.

 

Museum of the Gigantes and Cabezudos

The Museum of the Gigantes y Cabezudos is located within the old quarter of Puebla de Sanabria. Inside you will find the characters of the Gigantes (giants) and Cabezudos (big heads), which are important in the history of the town. This statues in the museum represent mythological beings, literary characters, and others. This characters go around the village on September 7th and 8th on the parade of Nuestra Señora de las Victorias.
