Ubeda y Baeza

Jaén counts with an impressive civil and religious heritage from the renaissance, with the towns of Úbeda and Baeza as world heritage declared by the UNESCO.  Surrounded by olive groves and next to the Guadalquivir river, these two cities will take you back in time.

Úbeda is well known for the architecture and the renaissance essence, just as you will see in our Parador de Úbeda located in a 16th-century palace on Renaissance style at the Vázquez de Molina square in the old quarter. The square in which the Parador is located is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, with an open concept in which you will find the most important monuments of the renaissance, such as the Chapel, the Church of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares and the Palacio of Juan Vázquez de Molina.

10 kilometers away from Úbeda and the Parador, you will find the charming town of Baeza. After entering through the Puerta de Úbeda, an old town of narrow streets filled with history and renaissance-style architecture appears in front of your eyes, inviting you to explore each corner of the town. The Santa María square where the Cathedral is located, the Romanic church of Santa Cruz, the town hall, the Palace of Jabalquinto and its garden and the square del Pópulo are just some of the many monuments and things to see in Baeza, the town of history.

From Úbeda we will head to Cazorla, the regional center located between two castles. Cazorla remains approximately 75km away from Úbeda and the trip has a duration of little less than two hours. But we have to say, the ride is worth it.
