Paradores on the French Way of Saint James

The Way of Saint James has to be done sometime in your life. There are different routes that lead you to Santiago de Compostela's Cathedral, where Saint James' tomb is located.  The most frequented one is the one known as the French Way of Saint James. It is the way of the medieval sites and it is famous for its historic importance. This route goes from Saint Jeam Pied de Port to Santiago, and we have some of our hotels on that way too. Parador de Olite

The Parador de Olite is located a bit diverted from the way, but still on the region. 40 kilometres far from it in Navarra there is Puente La Rana, other of the villages on the way. If you want to relax during the trip, you can stay at the Palace-Castle of the Parador de Olite, where medieval festivities, good wine and better cuisine can be enjoyed!

In the region of the Cidacos Valley, still in La Rioja, we have the beautiful village of Calahorra. Parador de Santo Domingo de la Calzada

Everyone stops by Santo Domingo de la Calzada on the French Way of Saint James as it historically belonged to it. Right there we have our Parador de Santo Domingo de la Calzada. This building is an old hospital from the XII century that was used to host and help the pilgrims on the way. The hotel is located next to the Cathedral, and this will be the last stop on the way belonging to the region of La Rioja.

Parador de Lerma

The city of Burgos is one of the most important spots on the Way of Saint James. Its Cathedral is one of the most important ones in Spain regarding to history, architecture and religion. Just 40 kilometres away, you can choose to relax and enjoy a tranquil time at the Parador de Lerma, located in what was a Ducal Palace in this charming medieval village already placed on a new stage of the Way of St. James. Parador de León

Little by little, we are getting closer to the final destination. The Hostal de San Marcos is a building from the XVI century considered a live museum. It used to be a pilgrims residency in the Middle Ages and now it is our Parador de León. Parador de Monforte de Lemos

Already in Galicia, we find the village of Monforte de Lemos, located 50 kilometres away from Ferreiros and 30 kilometres away from Sarria, which are emblematic spots on the French Way of Saint James. Our Parador de Monforte de Lemos is placed inside the Sab Vicente do Pino Monumental complex, such an interesting place to stop by: the Torre del Homenaje, the Monastery and the Palace of the Condes de Lemos, where the hotel is located.  where the hotel is located.
