Village of Arenas de San Pedro

40km away from the Parador de Gredos is the village of Arenas de San Pedro, where nature is the protagonist and the things to do are numerous, you will definitely not get bored around here. Also, don´t miss to visit the many sights that this town has to offer.

The caves of Aguila are one of the main touristic spots in this village, discovered in 1963, they are a nature wonder that amazes everyone who visits it. Also, the natural pools of Arenas de San Pedro are the perfect option for a refreshing dip during the warmer months, where you will find a place for drinks and food, parking and even a special pool for children.

Besides all the natural spots in this village, there are many historic and cultural monuments to see such as the castle of the Triste Condesa and the tower, the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the palace of the Infant Don Luis de Borbón, the convent of San Pedro de Alcántara, and many more.

To get from the Parador de Gredos to Arenas de San Pedro it takes a 45 minutes' drive through the AV-941 and the N-502.

Village of Mombeltrán

By taking a short drive of 15 minutes through the AV-923 and the N-502 you will get from Arenas de San Pedro to the charming village of Mombeltrán. In here you will find many historic monuments surrounded by the beautiful green landscape of the Sierra of Gredos.

In Mombeltrán you cannot miss to visit the Castle, located in a high point of the village, which dates from the XV century and is the most important touristic attraction in this town. Also, the church of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, the church of San Juan, the old hospital of San Andres and other monuments are worth visiting,

Walking around Pinar de Navarredonda

Just at the right side of the parking of the Parador de Gredos you will find the beginning of the path that takes you around the Pinar of Navarredonda. The duration of the route is approximately 1 hour and a half and the level of difficulty is low. It is a really nice walk that allows you to relax, breath fresh air, hear the sounds of the woods and connect with nature.

Afterwords, head back to the Parador and relax at the garden, the terrace or by the fireplace. It´s so cozy that you won´t want to leave. Also, don´t miss to try the exquisite gastronomy served at the restaurant of the Parador, which includes roasts meats and Manchego cheeses.
