Enjoy one of the largest concentrations of Romanesque constructions in the whole of Europe: the Palencian Mountain, in the north of the Cantabrian mountain range, where you will be able to visit the Picos de Europa and the National Park with the same name.
A spectacular and almost unknown chain of mountains rises up in this area, with some peaks at over 2,000 metres high and a natural area covered in beautiful lakes originating from glaciers. Whether on foot, or 4x4, etc., discovering this area is a true pleasure for all the senses. There are areas of special natural interest, such as Ruesga and el Valle Estrecho, La Pernía and Fuente Cobre, the Route of the Reservoirs and the Peña del Oso trail, etc.
The Parador is an excellent and privileged place to stay to discover this spectacular natural environment. The Fuente Dé cable car, located next to the Parador, will take you comfortably to the heart of the Macizo Central, or Urrieles and the Puertos de Aliva. Numerous and varied routes to enjoy this spectacular landscape will be suggested and advised to you by staff at the Parador.
