If there is one Parador that breaks with the trend of historic buildings and acts as a symbol of modernity, it is the Parador de Antequera. Located in a parklike setting within the city, this hotel is the perfect choice for rest and relaxation or for holding an event of any kind. Enormous windows allow the light to flood every corner and offer views of the magnificent landscape of Andalusia, with gorgeous sunsets over the Antequera plain and rocky formations known as the Peña de los Enamorados.

Antequera is located at the main crossroads of Andalusia, making it an ideal setting-off point for exploring the region. If you have come to relax, we can recommend one of the poolside recliners, a drink on the terrace, and the aroma of plants and flowers from the pleasant gardens. The location is also perfect for social events or business meetings. We offer four fully-equipped function rooms of different sizes. You can rest assured that the lovely atmosphere will make any experience a magnificent one.

The hotel is so pleasant and comfortable that you find it difficult to leave, to tear yourself away from the soft light of its rooms and the colorful fresh and elegant minimalist décor. Even so, a stroll through Antequera is well worth the effort. Highlights include the city's gifts of the Bronze Age, including the Cueva de Menga, Viera and Romeral dolmens. Other sites that await you include Santa María Basilica and the Alcazaba de Antequera, a castle from the Roman period that watches over the town from above.

Just a few kilometers from Antequera, a wonderful place awaits your amazed eyes: El Torcal Nature Reserve, a unique geological formation where narrow winding paths skirt spectacular capricious forms sculpted in the limestone over hundreds of millions of years. This is also a wonderful spot for exploring the universe, as there is a modern astronomy observatory offering visitor activities year round. When you return to the Parador in the evening, you can also enjoy star gazing at the hotel.

A modern Parador not too far from the old town. Everything worked. Great breakfast with view to match.

We preferred the restaurant to the barbecue but we couldn't always choose.
Antequera was not on walking distance for us.

Whoever heard of a 4* hotel where the bar/cafe doesn't open until 3pm. If you want a drink you must sit in the restaurant. Ridiculous. Given a voucher for 2 free drinks and we later found them billed for when we ordered a bottle of wine. The junior suite we had was fantastic but we won't be back.
