We liked the town and it was so convenient for the Rioja wine region.

Santo Domingo de la Calzada is very convenient as a base for nearby Rioja towns such as Logrono and Laguardia. The location is quiet near the edge of town. Feee public parking is available close to the Parador.
A slight inconvenience with this Parador is that the on-site restaurant is open only for breakfast. If you're on half board arrangement, you would have to go to the other Parador in the same town.

Beautiful and comfortable room, without A/C. What was annoying in the heat. OK breakfast. No restaurant.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the facilities appalling - no bar, nor restuarant. The breakfast was appalling and generally the service was very poor. We had to walk to the other Parador to get a meal and drinks.

I booked a 3 day Roija route - this Parador is the worse than you could believe. Not is there no wine or food at the Parador you have to walk 2 blocks to a sister Parador to eat or get any type of service. The town that surrounds the hotel is run down with very little to do except spend an hour touring the church. Can't wait to check out of here.
