Parador de Úbeda

Plaza de Vázquez Molina, s/n 23400 Úbeda Jaén

Director: Juan Antonio Choza Fernández

The World Heritage City of Úbeda is located in the province of Jaén, west of the Cazorla and Segura mountains near the Guadalquivir River. You will find the Parador in the old quarter, housed in a 16th-century palace on Renaissance-style Vázquez de Molina Square. The local architecture will remind you of an Italian Renaissance city, but with the folklore, age-old handicrafts, cuisine and joyous atmosphere of Andalusia. The hotel façade conceals an extremely beautiful interior courtyard and some of the guest rooms offer a spectacular view of the square.

Just a short stroll separates the Parador from some of the loveliest buildings in Úbeda, including El Salvador Chapel, the palace of the Marquis of Mancera and Vázquez Molina Palace, now home to the city hall.

The city's wealth of cultural heritage is reflected in its walls, palaces, churches, monasteries and convents. Begin your tour on Redonda de Miradores Street, Úbeda's viewpoint overlooking a sea of olive trees. Continue along its winding streets, visiting antique shops, museums, neighborhoods such as San Millán, and picturesque Valencia Street, where you can still find artisan potters working in their shops. You will discover a truly unique place.

Beautiful Palace. We had a corner balcony room overlooking the square and the Chapel. One of the original Paradors (1928), lots of charm, historic interest and great location. Ubeda is lovely to stroll around with its historic buildings and museums and there are wonderful views over looking the countryside and towards the Sierra Nevadas. We really enjoyed our stay here. It felt like being back in time!

Very good location. Roadside car parking area within a 5min walk. Double Plus Room, large & clean with tall ceiling & very comfortable bed. Restaurant service was mixed. Execellent the first evening but lacking attention on the second evening. The only downside was the weather, as it was a weekend of thunderstorms and hailstones.
