History and nature combine in Vilalba. In this quiet town, located on the ’Way of St. James, is the majestic Torre dos Andrade, where the Parador de Vilalba is located. Six magnificent rooms await you in this Medieval tower, which shares space with the Salón de los Andrade, which decorated with coats of arms and wall paintings, and the new Enxebre restaurant at its base. Near Vilalba you mustn’t miss a visit to the two urban centres nearest the town. Mondoñedo, 25 km away, is a small cobbled town surrounded by green mountains, which was declared a Historic-Artistic Site, and whose cathedral, which has been declared a National Monument, is a highlight. Another city you’ll love to visit is Lugo, 35 km away, where you can enjoy its Roman wall, which has been declared a World Heritage Site due to its perfect state of preservation, and one of the best-prepared cuisines in Galicia, where tapas are a religion.
